Based on the new urban positioning of Guangzhou, this paper studies the main problems existing in urban road traffic, and analyzes the urban development trend of Guangzhou in combination with the overall planning of guangzhou's new round of development, and summarizes the countermeasures for the structural improvement of Guangzhou road network.This paper focuses on the upgrading, focus issues and main contradictions of the skeleton road network. Taking Guangzhou city as the main problem orientation and starting from the main functional levels of urban road network, this paper studies the road network structure of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area around the Pearl River Estuary, such as transit within important cities, inter-city cluster and major hubs, finds out the main problems and improvement directions, and puts forward improvement ideas and strategies.
