Using multi-day, multi-period travel diaries data of 56 days (four waves of two-week diaries) for 67 individuals in Stockholm, this study aims to examine the effects of out-of-home and in-home constraints (e.g. teleworking, studying at home, doing the laundry, cleaning and taking care of other household member[s]) on individuals’ day-to-day leisure activity participation decisions in four different seasons. This study also aims to explore the effects of various types of working schedules (fixed, shift, partial- and full-flexible) on individuals’ decisions to participate in day-to-day leisure activities. A pooled model (56 days) and wave-specific models (14 days in each wave) are estimated by using dynamic ordered Probit models. The effects of various types of working schedules are estimated by using 28 days of two waves’ data. The results show that an individual’s leisure activity participation decision is significantly influenced by out-of-home work durations but not influenced by in-home constraints, regardless of any seasons. Individuals with shift working hours engage less in day-to-day leisure activities than other workers’ types in both spring and summer seasons. The thermal indicator significantly affects individuals’ leisure activity participation decisions during the autumn season. Individuals exhibit routine behaviour characterized by repeated decisions in participating in day-to-day leisure activities that can last up to 14 days, regardless of any seasons. 相似文献

In order to prevent the uncontrolled release of seatbelt buckles due to high acceleration caused by pretensioners, anti-g
buckles that have pendulum-shaped g-masses to block the releasing motion are commonly adopted in seatbelt systems. However,
even with the wide applications of anti-g buckles, the underlying operational principles of anti-g buckles have yet to be
investigated. This work studies conditions for the engagement of the g-mass to prevent inertial release, and conditions for
maintaining a blocked state under very high acceleration. Using a multibody model of an anti-g buckle, the effects of various
design parameters on the performance of the anti-g buckle have been examined. It turns out that design variables associated
with the geometry of the g-mass and its contacting surface configuration play important roles. In order to account for the
dynamic interaction between driver and seatbelt, a multibody model of a seatbelt system is combined with a dummy model to
form a single dynamic system. Using the measured displacement of the buckle during the explosion of a pretensioner as the
driving condition for simulation, dynamic analysis of the seatbelt with driver interaction has been carried out. Through comparison
with measured and computed accelerations of webbing, which shows good agreement, the validity of the model has been demonstrated.
The dynamic model for seatbelt and driver can be used as a design tool for the development of anti-g buckles. 相似文献

In a modern society, traffic congestion is a major problem in every metropolis. To solve the problem of traffic congestion an innovative omni-directional vehicle is proposed. This research has mainly focussed on developing the comprehensive vehicle dynamics model for an omni-directional road vehicle. Then the stability of the vehicle in the yaw plane was analysed under different scenarios based on the response of the side slip angle. As environmental and economic interests increase, the need for eco-friendly vehicle such as an electric vehicle (EV) has increased rapidly. Various research of enhancing EV powertrain efficiency and relibility have been studied. In this study, 2-speed shift gears mechanism is designed by using simpson type planetary gear train. This transmission has two planetary gear unit. Gear position is determinded by which ring gear is fixed. Internal components of the transmission are designed for satisfying the required specification of EV. We analyze gear strength, gear mesh efficiency, and transmission efficiency. With many real world decisions being made in conjunction with other decision makers, or single agent decisions having an influence on other members of the decision maker’s immediate entourage, there is strong interest in studying the relative weight assigned to different agents in such contexts. In the present paper, we focus on the case of one member of a two person household being asked to make choices affecting the travel time and salary of both members. We highlight the presence of significant heterogeneity across individuals not just in their underlying sensitivities, but also in the relative weight they assign to their partner, and show how this weight varies across attributes. This is in contrast to existing work which uses weights assigned to individual agents at the level of the overall utility rather than for individual attributes. We also show clear evidence of a risk of confounding between heterogeneity in marginal sensitivities and heterogeneity in the weights assigned to each member. We show how this can lead to misleading model results, and argue that this may also explain past results showing bargaining or weight parameters outside the usual [0,1] range in more traditional joint decision making contexts. In terms of substantive results, we find that male respondents place more weight on their partner’s travel time, while female respondents place more weight on their partner’s salary. 相似文献

There are two types of hot-stamping processes, direct and indirect, depending on the sequence of the heating, forming, and quenching steps and the method used for each step. In this study, an indirect hot-stamping process consisting of forming at room temperature, heating, and water quenching was applied to develop a coupled torsion beam axle. The analysis results indicated that the application of the heat convection coefficient is critical in the simulations and must take into account the temperature and specific location in the model to ensure the accuracy of the heating and quenching analysis. The heat convection coefficients used in the analysis were directly measured at various positions of the tube (e.g., outside, inside, and bending region) using thermocouples, and the final values were determined through correlation between the actual tests and numerical analysis. The HCCI combustion mode poses its own set of narrow engine operating by knocking. In order to solve this, inhomogeneity method of mixture and temperature is suggested. The purpose of this research is to get fundamental knowledge about the effect of thermal stratification on HCCI combustion of n-Heptane/iso-Octane-Air mixture. The temperature stratification is made by buoyancy effect in combustion chamber of RCM. The analysis items are pressure, temperature of incylinder gas and combustion duration. In addition, the structure of flames using the two dimensional chemiluminescence’s images by a framing camera are analyzed. Under stratification, the LTR starting time and the HTR starting time are advanced than that of homogeneous. Further, the LTR period of homogeneous conditions became shorter than that of the stratified conditions. With the case of homogeneous condition, the luminosity duration becomes shorter than the case of stratified condition. ABSTRACTDuring the 1990s, Nigerian seaports were considered inefficient, unsafe due to massive cargo theft (wharf rat phenomenon) and one of the most expensive port systems in the world. This resulted in long turnaround times for ships and increased container dwell times. As a result, port operations were transferred to the private sector through concession contracts. This paper employs a Malmquist productivity index (MPI) technique to benchmark pre-and post-reform total factor productivity growth of the six major Nigeria seaports (Apapa, Calabar, Onne, Port Harcourt, TinCan Island and Warri) for the period 2000–2011 which represents six years before (2000–2005) and six years after (2006–2011) the reform. The results indicate progress in technical efficiency of the ports after reform but deterioration in technological progress. Overall productivity growth was higher in the pre-concession period compared to the post-concession period. The source of pre-concession period productivity growth was technological progress while the change in productivity of the post-concession period is generated by an increase in scale efficiency. This suggests that concessionaires have not brought in the much anticipated investment in modern technology to drive port efficiency. The ports of Calabar and Apapa experienced the highest productivity growth while lowest result was Onne. 相似文献
