Movement of railway vehicles generates mechanical vibrations of a wide range of frequency. Depending on track materials, dissipation in form of viscous and hysteretic damping is present, and stiffness depends on strain-rate. In a previous paper (Castellani et al., 1998), a mathematical model to describe track materials has been developed in the frequency domain. The present paper applies this model, and attempts an analytical formulation of vehicle-track and soil interaction in the frequency domain. Rail vibrations during the passage of a vehicle are generated by three families of forces: a) the weight of the moving vehicle, b) the inertial reaction of the vehicle under the effect of corrugations over an undeformable rail, and, c) the vehicle inertial forces due to displacements of the rail. The first two groups of forces do not depend on the rail displacement, and the related mathematical formulation is a simple problem of forces at a mobile point of application. Formulation of the vehicle inertial forces, related to the rail vibration, requires reference to the acceleration of the rail, as seen by an observer in motion with the vehicle itself. Moreover, it is necessary to express the equilibrium equation of two dynamic systems, the vehicle and the track, at a the movable point of contact. There is no straight numerical procedure to solve this equation in the frequency domain. In the paper two theoretical propositions (Fryba, 1988; Grassie et al., 1982) are revisited with reference to the effect of the transit of a single wheel. Fryba infers that, in the absence of corrugations, the forces c) are null. Grassie et al. (1982) present a mathematical formulation of the interaction between wheel and rail, at mobile point of contact. At each position, the interaction force is of impulsive type. They presume that for a corrugation of harmonic type, of wavelength ?, the wheel is subject to a harmonic motion, of the frequency f = V/?, where V is the wheel velocity. All other frequency components, due to the impulse, are disregarded. Both these assumptions are shown to be inconsistent from a theoretical point of view, however they suggest suitable approaches to the solution.  相似文献

Freight transfer operations are critical in combined transport networks. In this paper a simulation model and modelling approach to the transfer of cargo between trains at rail terminals is presented. The model is used to study the Port-Bou terminal, the main intermodal terminal at the Spanish-French frontier. Four different gantry crane operation modes to interchange containers between trains are evaluated. These operation rules are tested in several scenarios to examine the critical factors of the system and the best operation rule for each situation. Latest generation software is used to develop the model that incorporates modular programming and enhanced graphic systems for output representation. It allows a dynamic display of the simulated system and, likewise, the possibility of developing modules that can be reused in other studies. The research shows how simulation can be a useful planning tool in the rail transportation context.  相似文献

The present research deals with car pooling as a means of making better use of existing infrastructure and as a means of reducing traffic congestion with all its associated induced effects. Car pooling schemes involve several drivers getting together to share a private vehicle simultaneously, in order to reach their destinations points according to a semi‐common route rather than each driver using their own vehicle. The Car Pooling Problem belongs to the non‐polynomial computational complexity family of operations problems. In the current literature there are only a few studies on this optimization problem: the research group has designed several different new automatic and heuristic data processing routines to support efficient matching in car pool schemes. These are based on savings functions and belong to two distinct macro classes of algorithms to give two different modelings of this problem. They offer average savings of more than 50% in traveled distances demonstrating the effectiveness of a trivial matching scheme for real applications.  相似文献

Several research efforts have been directed toward the development of models for response prediction of flexible risers. The main difficulties arise from the fact that the dynamic response of flexible risers involves highly nonlinear behavior and a self-regulated process. This article presents a quasi-steady approach for response prediction of oscillating flexible risers. Amplitude-dependent lift coefficients are considered, as is an increased mean drag coefficient model during synchronization events. Experimental validation of the proposed model was carried out using a 20-m riser model excited by forced harmonic vibration at its top end. Large variations in the hydrodynamic force coefficients, a low mass ratio value, and synchronization events are the main features of the model presented in this article. Experimental validation was provided for the asymmetric, transverse, diagonal, and third vortex regimes.  相似文献

Abstract

We provide an interpretive analysis of vertical relations between airports and carriers, while assessing the way in which deregulation of the airline market and the privatization of airports have created incentives for airport–airline interaction. In particular, if the vertical structure approach has become the standard approach in air transport research, we add to the literature by discussing three issues that we believe need further understanding. The three issues that we think should be the focus of future research on airport–airline interaction are (i) incomplete contracts and asymmetric information structure; (ii) upstream horizontal complementarities; and (iii) airports as two-sided platforms.  相似文献

Deep water samples (in contact with the sediment) were collected at eight different points of the estuary of the Nerbioi-Ibaizabal River (Bay of Biscay, Basque Country), both at low and high tides, during four sampling campaigns (May, September and December 2005 and March 2006). Superficial water was also sampled in March 2006. Temperature, pH, redox potential, dissolved oxygen and electrical conductivity corresponding to each sample were measured in situ at each sampling point using a multiparametric probe. The physico-chemical parameters found are typical of highly stratified estuaries, with an acceptable oxygenation level. After filtering and acidifying the samples, they were analysed by inductively coupled plasma/mass spectrometry (ICP/MS) to simultaneously determine the total concentration of Al, As, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn. Concentrations in the μg kg− 1 level were found in all cases (cCr and cNi, 1–10; cAl, cAs and cZn, 10–50; cCu and cMn, 10–100 and cFe, 100–400 μg kg− 1). A probable net input of Al, Cr, Mn and Zn via the main (Nerbioi-Ibaizabal) and some of the tributary rivers (Galindo, Asua and Gobela) was identified. Evidence of a common source of Al and Zn to the estuary was found. Correlation analysis of data revealed connections between variables (concentration of Cu, Fe and As with salinity, as well as cAl with cZn, cCu with cFe, cAs with cFe, and cAs with cCu). Principal Component Analysis (PCA) of data allowed the samples to be grouped according to sampling campaign, with two principal components accounting for 62% of the total variance. In addition, plots of element concentration against salinity suggested a conservative behaviour for As, Cu and Fe and a non-conservative one for Cr. Not clear mixing behaviour was observed for the rest of elements.  相似文献

Spatial distribution patterns of epibenthic communities on the Galician continental shelf were studied using multivariate methods. Data came from 5 surveys carried out in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Beam trawls and otter trawls were used to study epibenthic communities along 8 transects perpendicular to the coastline. The role of depth, season, latitude and sediment characteristics was examined. Seven habitats were described according to bathymetry and sediment characteristics. There were weak linear relationships between environmental variables and species richness, biomass and species diversity. However, the canonical analysis showed that depth and sediment characteristics greatly influence smaller epibenthic communities sampled by beam trawl. Six assemblages were obtained for beam trawls: inner shelf mud, very fine sands, and fine sands, middle shelf sands, and outer shelf very fine sands, and fine sands. Five assemblages were identified for larger-sized and swimming epibenthos sampled with otter trawls. These assemblages were also determined according to depth and sediment type but sediment characteristics were less important. Otter trawl assemblages were the same as the beam trawl ones, except for on the outer shelf where no differences between sediment type were detected. For both gears, inner and outer shelf assemblages displayed a higher biotic variability than the middle shelf, as a consequence of a higher environmental heterogeneity. Typifying species were mainly eurytopic in the middle shelf, whereas eurytopic and stenotopic species characterised the inner and outer shelves.  相似文献

When driving along a circular path, the driver of a motorcycle controls the vehicle mainly by means of steering torque. If low steering torque is necessary, the driver feels that the vehicle is manoeuvrable. In this paper, a mathematical model concerning steering torque is developed; it takes into account the actual kinematic behaviour of the vehicle and the properties of motorcycle tyres. Tyre forces act at the contact points of toroidal tyres, which are calculated according to kinematic analysis. Non-linear equations are solved using an iterative approach. Several numerical results are presented, and the influence of tyre properties and some geometrical and inertial properties of the vehicle on steering torque are discussed.  相似文献
