Abstract: | Foreign experts had ever believed that the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was a mission impossible to accomplish. This is mainly because the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway faced with three major problems: alpine hypoxia, permafrost, ecological vulnerability, in which the stability of permafrost roadbed is one of the biggest problems in the construction of Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Today, the successful operation of Qinghai-Tibet Railway with more than one year, the worldi-s highest and longest plateau line, has passed through the plateau area, as well as the permafrost region with countless times. Today, the Qinghai-Tibet railway is known as the Miracle built in the Frozen World. Because of this, at the Techniques Seminar in Plateau and High-cold of Railway held in Beijing in September 2007, the successful application of innovative technologies of Qinghai-Tibet Railway became the focus of participants and experts. |
