| Abstract: | The effects of injection timing, ignition timing, injection nozzle type and nozzle needle opening pressure on exhaust emissions were investigated by dynamometer tests on a 1130 single-cylinder diesel engine fueled with pure methanol. An evaluation on exhaust emissions level of methanol engine is made. Experimental results show that the effects of these factors on methanol engine are obvious. Methanol engine can achieve smokeless combustion, NO* in methanol engine is only a half of that in diesel engine, and CO2 is lower than diesel engine. |
