Analysis of Lolita's Narrative Techniques

Lolita,or the Confession of a White Widowed Male, is the masterpiece of the American writer Vladimir Nabokov. The narrative techniques of this novel are rather sophisticated and carefully conceived. The author ingeniously makes use of the first-person narration with an inside-view of the protagonist and the duality of the first-person narrator, by which Nabokov succeeds in achieving the delicate narrative balance,and simultaneously the protagonist Humbert realizes his narrative motivation of self-justification. The narrative techniques strengthen the artistic value of this novel. Its narrative techniques are analysed and probed.
