Study on Urban Traffic Jam in Hanoi City Vietnam

Hanoi city, the capital of Vietnam, is the representation of mega-cities in Vietnam. Hanoi is the most important city of triangle economic areas in the north of Vietnam. With more urbanization process, the economy of Vietnam has developed rapidly. However, Hanoi is faced with serious conflict between the limited capacity of urban transportation and the vigorous growth of transportation demand, especially the phenomena of congestion of traffic demanding urgent solution. It describes the status of traffic in Hanoi city, analyzes the evolution of urban transport development, studies the main problems of Hanoi traffic, makes researches in six direct causes and four deepseated reasons of traffic in Hanoi, finally proposes a solution for it. It is significant to harnessing traffic jam in Hanoi city.
