| Abstract: | Total alkaloid of SCP was given intravenously to rabbits, dogs and cats (0.3g/kg, corresponding to crude drugs ), and a mild hypotensive action was produced immediately. Their blood pressure was decreased 26.27%, 29.23% and 31.76% respectively. SCP extract was administered to 32 patients with nosebleed, 90g(corresponding to crude drugs)three times daily. Six days later, hypotensive action occurred in 25 patients, and average diastolic and systolic pressure dropped 11.16 and 7.16mmHg respectively. The results suggest that the mechanism of hypotensive action of SCP is related to depression of acetylcholine esterase. |
