LNG燃料船舶的机遇和挑战

MARPOL公约附则VI修订案的实施对船舶大气排放提出了进一步的要求,燃油作为船舶燃料难以满足这一要求。液态天然气作为船舶燃料没有SOx排放,NOx排放显著降低,既能满足新的要求,又能保持良好的性价比,开发使用LNG作为船舶燃料前景广阔。本文从法规公约的变化、发动机技术的发展、船舶燃料储存供应技术的开发,以及LNG燃料船舶的安全认证等方面介绍了船舶使用LNG燃料所面临的机遇和挑战。

The Opportunities and Challenges for the LNG Fueled Ships

The amendments to the MARPOL Annex VI regulations will see a progressive reduction in sulfur oxide （SOx） and nitrogen oxide （NOx） emissions from ships.And the conventional fuel oil will not be able to fulfill these regulations.When taking LNG as ship fuel,there is no SOx emission and few NOx emission,which fulfills the new regulations.LNG fuel has a higher cost-performance ratio than conventional fuel oil.Therefore,LNG fuel shows a bright prospect as the alternative marine fuel.The amendments of the international convention and regulation,the development of gas fuel engine,the development of LNG fuel storage and supply technology,and the security certification of the gas fueled ship bring a lot of opportunities and challenges to the LNG fueled ships.
