Investigation into the Gaps between Station Platforms and Trains of Guangzhou Metro

Appropriatness of the gaps and level differences between station platforms and floors of vehicles directly affects the safety of passengers.Investigation was conducted into the gaps and level differences between vehicles and platforms of 64 stations of Guangzhou metro Lines 1～4 under operation,as well as the heights of vehicle floors to the top of rails,with basic field data obtained.The differences between measured or deducted values of the gaps,level differences,heights of vehicle floors,distance between platform and center line of the track with those of the designed values were examined.Causes of these differences were analysed which may be of help to the design,construction and operation of metro lines.
