霍夫曼编码和游程编码在图像编码中的应用

摘    要:传真图像的信息量非常大,对其进行数据压缩,不仅可以节省存储空间,而且可以有效地降低传输时间。针对传真图像压缩这一实际问题提出了一种实用编码,实用编码将霍夫曼编码与自适应游程编码有机结合,对于出现频率较大的游程长度,采用霍夫曼编码,出现频率较小且长度较长的游程,采用自适应游程编码,从而有效地缩短了码字,提高了编码效率。

Abstract:The quantity of information in a facsimile chart is huge.The data compression of charts can help us to save more storage space,and reduce the transmission time effectively as well.This paper mainly aims at the facsimile charts,putting forward a kind of actual compression coding based on the Huffman code and the Run-length code.The Huffman coding is adopted of the bigger frequency run length and the adaptive run length coding is adopted of the smaller frequency run length.The results show that the modified algorithm can efficiently reduce the length of code and improve the efficiency of coding.
