Study on the Failure Analysis and Solved Cases of Bowl Plug Sealingof Engine Cylinder Head

Bowl plug,also known as plug,is widely used in internal combustion engines because of its relatively simple structure,high reliability and low price.Sealing is accomplished through the interference fit between the bowl plug and the hole and sealant.As a common sealing mode of engine cooling water jacket and oil channel,a common problem bowl plug is liquid leakage.Because of its simple structure,the root cause of liquid leakage problem is often overlooked.This paper is mainly about theoretical analysis and experimental verification on the leakage problem of engine bowl plug,and to provide references for problem solving.
