| Abstract: | On the basis of analyzing the feasibility report of a new metro line, the paper indicates that 6-carriage train composition is less economical for the early stages of operation than 4-carriage train composition. The feasibility of enlargement from 4-carriage to 6-carriage composition was analyzed with two approaches of enlargement put forward. It was proved by calculating the costs of enlargement options that 4-carriage composition would be more reasonable and economical and should be adopted for the trains on this line in the early and near future stages of operation. |
