Discussion on Insulation Design of Electric Locomotives and EMUs

Proceeding from the general requirements of insulation coordination,the layout and outer insulation design rules of the on roof insulators,circuit breakers and other high-voltage equipments of locomotives are discussed.Especially the applicable conditions of correction factor of altitude are explained.The insulation and relerant tests of high-voltage cable and main transformer are concisely described.The necessity of high voltage tests on assembled locomotives is pointed out.
