Analysis and Enlightenment of Bicycle Traffic in Cities Abroad

The article discusses the development of bicycle traffic under the condition that bicycle traffic declines in the proportion of trips while holding a large number of bicycle ownership. First, the article researches on different development patterns of bicycle traffic between Copenhagen and Tokyo in order to explore the development direction of bicycle traffic in cites of China. Then, on the basis of contrastive analysis of population density, traffic structure and bicycle policy, the article points out that Shanghai can draw on the experience of Tokyo in development of bicycle traffic which means that the travel mode by using bicycle and urban mass transit for one trip is suitable for Shanghai.
