The status quo and dilemma confronting foreign trade transition in Nantong constitute the basis of its path selection.An empirical analysis of Nantong＇s foreign trade transition after financial crisis indicates that transition performance is far from satisfactory.In addition,it is affected by various adverse factors from home and abroad.Hence Nantong＇s foreign trade transition should be oriented towards fostering scale economy,innovating trade pattern,fostering self-owned brand and IPR,achieving balanced development in foreign trade as well as strengthening policy support so as to optimize the environment for foreign trade development and approach the current challenge.
