Abstract:Since the Datong-Xi'an High-speed Railway has to under-cross the Yellow River,the total length of the planned tunnel is 20 949m,which is a single-lined,double-holed tunnel,and is planned to be dug respectively by means of the slurry shield method and the mining method.The geological conditions of and the overall engineering design thinking ways for the Yellow River regions are dealt with in detail in the paper,with the structural designs for the shielded sections,under-cut sections,open-cut sections and work shafts specifically introduced and emphasis placed on the introduction to the anti-disaster rescue scheme of platform + two-sided rescue passages + shaft to be used for the tunnel.Although this scheme was not employed in the end because of the construction cost,the research thinking ways mentioned in the paper may serve as a useful reference for the construction of other tunnel projects under similar geological conditions.
