Abstract:Ultra-high design is an important part in route design and also one of critical contents in safety design of curve sections.The coordination between the ultra-high design and flat longitudinal surface may have direct impacts on pavement drainage of ultra-high sections and lateral stability,comfort and security of vehicles on curve sections.Based on JTG B01—2003 "Technical Criteria for Highway Engineering" and JTG D20—2006 "Specification for Design of Highway Route",this paper analyzes some major control factors for ultra-high design and preliminarily studies on ultra-high computation and application in highway design to provide a reference for designers.
