Application of the Statistical Testing Method to 3D Dimension and Tolerance Design of Automotive Components

By comparative analysis of several dimension and tolerance design methods used in automotive compo-nent design,one new dimension and tolerance design method using the statistical testing method is introduced systemati-cally.The implementing procedures of applying the method to computer simulation and3D dimension and tolerance design are discussed.The method is easy to use in dimension and tolerance design and has high accuracy.With the automo tive shifting rod as example,the procedures of applying the method to dimension and tolerance analysis are introduced in de-tail,which prove the effectiveness and practicability of the method.
