Discussion on measures to be taken by merchant ships to avoid fishing vessels at sea

Collision accidents involving merchant cargo ships and fishing vessels occasionally happened at sea, causing enormous social impacts and economic losses. There are many factors and causes for such accidents. This paper analyses the characteristics and operational modes of the marine fishing vessels, discusses the measures of avoidance and provides some relevant suggestions on how merchant ships to avoid fishing vessels.
