Although the international community has paid serious attention to the issue of piracy off the Somali coast and a series of preventive measures have been promulgated to deal with the problem,piracy attacks against merchant ships are still happening,for those measures taken haven＇t completely solved the problem of piracy from the source.This arti- cle analyses the actual impacts of the piracy problem on the Chinese shipping industry and provides some suggestions on the measures to deal with the problem.
