Understanding,Practice and Re-understanding of Urban Rail Transit Network Planning

In this paper,the planning principle,ideas,methods, points,levels,forms of urban rail transit line and network,the concept and standards of network operation are all summa-rized. On this basis,the planning ideas in recent years like loop line,viaduct,city area express are discussed,the total amount control target of rail transit network and the principles according to the economic ability are put forward, to ensure the intensity benefit of passenger flow. Then, the control tar-gets for the scale of urban rail transit in 10 million,5 million and 3 million population cities are proposed respectively,to guide the selection of high quality line and operation range, form the fundamental network frame work and obtain the best operation benefit. Urban rail transit network planning shall be further integrated into city master plan and become the skele-ton in urban construction,to serve the city and lead the devel-opment of the city.
