Design and analysis of mud processing system for offshore drilling

This paper introduces the basic procedure of the mud processing system for offshore drilling, analyzes the critical design issues about the arrangement of the mud processing system for the dif erent ship types based on the owner＇s individual requirements, and puts forward the issues and solutions that should be focused on for system design. It especially studies the issues about shale shaker assembly, division of mud in/out of shakers, and discharge of cutting overboard. It also proposes the recommendations on the design of the domestic offshore mud processing system.
