Monitoring the Structure Safety of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge

An introduction is given to the to-be-built structure safety monitoring system for Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. The system is composed of sensing system, signal analyzing and processing system, and monitoring and evaluating system. The scope of monitoring and distribution of monitoring point was determined through theoretical analysis and measured data analysis. Emphasis was put on vibration response monitoring system, which mainly covers main bridge vibration, anti\|collision of bridge pier, vibration of high piers of approach bridge, and earthquake, etc. Measured data will be used for analyzing working condition of structures and evaluating reliability of structures, providing basis for scientific decision\|making for management and maintenance of the bridge.
