An Extraction of the U.S. 2005 Urban Mobility Report

The U.S. Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) issues each year an annual report on urban mobil-ity of major urban areas in the United States. Based on data collected in and before 2003 from 85 urban areas, the 2005 report assesses a series of urban mobility mea-sures, and points out that congestion within U.S. urban areas continues to grow. The report provides a list of problems caused by congestion, and recommends ac-tions that need to be taken to improve traffic operations and management. The report also includes a compara-tive analysis on benefits derived from those actions.
