Abstract:In this Paper, trypan bine (T bine) war used to block macrophage(M) in vivo investigating the role of M in tumor suppressive activity of GeM10, a new organic germanium compound.Results showed that GeM10 could significantly inhibit the growth of transplation S180 solid tumor and Ehrlish ascites carcinoma in mice. When M activity was blocked by T blue, the protective effect of GeM10 was almost lest. Moreover, T blue treated mica showed larger tumor size in solid tumor and shorter lifespan in ascites tumor as compared with controls. In addition, marked hemmorrhagic necrosis was seen in the GeM10 treated tumor, the necrosis area was larger in comparison with controls. No significant difference was seen between T blue treated groups and the controls. Furthermore, more macrophage infiltration and more thrombosis were seen in the peril,keral area of the tumors treat6d with GeM10 than those of tumors in any other group. All these findings suggested that in vivo antitumor effect of GeM10 was mainly exerted through M mechanisms.
