General Description On Green-Transportation Related Issues

Starting with an introduction of objectives to promote green transportation, and based on a hierarchy structure of green transportation systems, this paper analyzes the existing issues associated with the current green transportation systems, such as walking, bicycling, and public transportation, and discusses potential measures to cope with these issues. Then, in terms of limiting the use of private cars, the paper elaborates the concept of conges- tion-pricing and its recent practices, and focuses on its implementation methods and successful results shown in the cases of Singapore and London. The paper concludes with a call for Car Free Day events, so as to better promote green transportation systems development.
