在二战以后，汤因比对全球化与全球性问题已开始思考，并且在寻求解答上有深刻性与独创性。他认为，全球化过程包括全球范围内明中心的兴起、地区明的兴起与相互联系、全球一体化与全球性问题的产生三个环节。现代西方明在其扩张的过程中将自身重物质、轻精神的特质渗透到其他明中，从而导致了全球性的人类困境问题。全球性困境问题的解决必须要进行精神革命，重塑人类的价值观。

Globalization and Global Problems in Toynbee's Vision

Toynbee began to think about the topic of globalization and global problems after World War II, trying to get a penetrating and original answer. In his vision, the process of globalization included three links: the rise of worldwide civilization centers, the rise and interaction of regional civilizations, the emergence of globalization and global problems. Modern western civilization infiltrated, other civilizations with its characteristic emphasis on material and disregard for the mind, which led to global dilemmas. A revolution of the mind and a reshaping of human values would be the solutions to such a difficult position.
