Abstract: | ![]() The total annual traffic flow at a road site is probably the single most important item of data needed in transport studies. In this article we describe a method of estimating this flow from a traffic count of less than 24 hours duration. The method is extended to enable an assessment to be made of the merits of repeating a count. The application of the method is discussed in relation to the United Kingdom, but we believe this method to be generally applicable to most countries. |
