| Abstract: | The shield tunneling method in the trial section of Beijing metro line 5 is introduced. The main design parameters of the shield tunneling machine and the tunnel lining segment are described. Some key technologies in shield tunneling method construction, including the launching of shield machine, the strengthening of end soil, concrete grouting behind the lining, opening the cabin by adding pressure, checking and changing of cutter and the control of settlement, are discussed. |
