海南岛铁路与海南经济

海南岛1988年建制为海南省。海南省地处南海，区域包括海南岛和西沙、中沙、南沙群岛及其海域，北隔琼州海峡与雷州半岛相望，西临北部湾与越南为邻，东南邻近南亚诸国。本岛土地面积为3.4万平方公里，海岸线长1528公里．海洋面积200多万平方公里，人口780万。是我国仅次于台湾岛的第二大岛。海南省是全国最小的陆地省和最大的海洋省。

Hainan Island Railway and the Hainan Economy

Hainan Island was established as Hainan Province in 1988. Hainan is located in the South China Sea, including Hainan Island, the Xisha Islands, the Zhongsha Islands, and the Nansha Islands, via Qiongzhou Strait in the north to Leizhou Peninsula, via Beibu Bay in the west with the neighbor of Vietnam, neighbouring South Asian countries in the southeast. The Island land area is of 0.34 million square kilometers, with coastline of 1528 km, the marine area is of more than 20 billion square kilometers, with population of 7.8 million. Hainan Island is the second largest island inferior to Taiwan Island. Hainan is the smallest province in the land and the biggest one in the sea.
