Triaxial Creep Tests on Asphalt Mixture Rutting Resistance Evaluation

Abstract:Firstly by simulating the actual GTM gyratory sheer compaction test of pavement to the most extent to formulate various samples of different high- temperature performance, then by adopting triaxial repeated load creep tests to compare and analyze high - temperature performances of samples, this paper aims to explore the reasonability of different evaluating indicators of triaxial creep tests. By introducing concepts and indicators such as theoretical validity, average reliability, relative discrimination, this paper evaluates comprehensively the discrimination results of various creep indicators on high - temperature performance of asphalt mixture and concludes that the evaluating effect of Creep Stiffness Modulus is best while that of ultimate creep strain is inferior to the former, which provides a foundation of objective evaluation of anti - rutting performances of asphalt mixtures.
