The Role of Steel Sheet in Manufacture of Passenger Car Body Overseas

Various pressures on automotive industry are reviewed in regard to law constraints, market demands and manufacturing. Distinguishing features of steel sheet car body is presented over other materials. According to the material selection principle for passenger car, steel sheet will remain as the mass material in the future. From the view of application, the development of steel sheet, coated sheet and sandwich sheet are reviewed.
