Institution:the Important Conception of the Historical Materialism

Institution is an extraordinarily important problem that Chinese theoretical society is paying close attention to in recent years. People have specifically probed into and studied institution at different angles, involving many subjects such as economics politics, sociology and so on. This article holds that institution is not only the research target of each specific subject, but also the important conception of historical materialism. In ferms of historical materialism, institution means human behavior rules that are based on social production and the relations of society and embodies the condition of social thinking at a certain historic stage.Viewing institution from the perspective of historical materialism enables us to make a general explanation concerning the essence of institution problems and is a precondition for further study of such problems as institution transformation and innovation.
