Abstract:Based on the investigation of four typical municipal sewage plants in Hangzhou, this paper analyzes the seasonal variation of sludge yield at first, and then explores the specific influencing factors of sludge yield from three aspects of influent COD concentration, influent SS concentration and operating water temperature . Results shows that the sludge yield in spring is higher than the other three seasons, and the sludge yield has a great correlation with the influent COD concentration, the sludge yield increased with the increasing of COD concentratio. There is a certain correlation between sludge yield and SS concentration. Higher SS concentration in influent water leads to higher sludge yield. Higher water temperature in summer resulted in a faster growth rate of microorganisms, which was limited by substrate concentration and a larger decay coefficient, which was one of the reasons for the lower sludge yield in summer compared with other seasons.
