Abstract: | In order to evaluate inertial effect on sheet deformation in the simulation of stamping processes by dynamic explicit FEM, an analytic model is established for analyzing cylindrical cup drawing process. The main factors governing the extent of inertial effect on sheet deformation pattern are investigated by energy method, and the approach to the selection of reasonable tool speed for dynamic analysis of stamping processes is proposed. The effectiveness of the present approach is further demonstrated and justified by the numerical result herewith provided. |
