Function Division for Combat Systems of Naval Ship

The integration design of shipboard combat systems tends to proceed on the optimized function division basis.Systematically function division requires a rational method in the system design.Through an analysis on the typical functions division of the combat systems of the navies from U.S.,Russia and European countries,it is found that the systematic modeling should govern the process of function division.As the function division is substantially mission profile dependent,a suitable infrastructure of the combat systems should be built according to the mission profile.This paper presents the core functions of the combat systems,and advances four principles for function division.It also suggests that the new functions,e.g.,cooperative engagement capability (CEC),added to the combat systems should be particularly addressed and implemented.
