The outer profile size of vehicle is an important control factor in highway geometric design.＂Technical Standard of Highway Engineering＂ clearly defined the design of vehicle＇s types and profile size,as fundamental basis for determining the layout of cross road and geometry of road.In fact,for some special needs,some extra-long vehicles which overstep the range of vehicle＇s maximum size often appear on highway,but the plane curve broadening value defined by current standards cannot meet their turning demand.Combining with the design instance of Water East Service Area,the checking of plane curve broadening value in condition of extra-long vehicle turning is discussed in detail,which has a certain practical meaning.
