Abstract:The function of saturators is to humidify air by bring it into direct contact with water.This process is accomplished by a combination of sensible heat transfer and evaporation of water.The paper discussed mass and heat transfer in saturator and developed mathematical and physical models for saturators.The mathematical model computes one dimensional distributions of air temperatrue,moisture content and the required volume of saturators.The governing equations are solved numerically by a finite difference method.The physical model describes the mass and heat transfer process in the saturator.This paper can provide a mathematical model for saturator design,which is important in designing configurations of HAT cycles.
