| Abstract: | Inexact Newton method is an effective method for computing the extreme eigenvalues of symmetric matrices. In this paper, we study convergence theories of this inexact Newton method. The main result is that under certain conditions the inexact Newton method for eigenvalue problems is superlinear convergent. |
