基于设计工具箱的《纽约街道设计手册》

经过长期发展实践，西方国家开始回归“以人为本”的街道设计，纽约市编制和发布了《纽约街道设计手册》（以下简称《手册》）。首先介绍《手册》的作用、目的，以及规划-设计-管理三阶段设计流程。重点对《手册》中的设计工具箱进行探讨，其体现了纽约市在街道设计方面的历史经验与前沿探索，涵盖街道设计六大原则、五大设计要素、设计要点以及设计检索清单等内容。最后，总结《手册》对处于转型期的中国城市在街道空间构建、街道生活形成等方面的积极借鉴意义。

Toolbox based New York Street Design Manual

After a long-term investigation and development, street design in western countries began to re-emphasize the“people oriented”concept. The Street Design Manual has been prepared and released by the New York City. This paper first discusses the functionalities, objectives, and the three-stage design scheme involving planning, design and management of the manual. As a synthesis of New York’s past ex-perience and forefront exploration in street design, the design toolbox of the manual is further elaborated in several aspects, including six design principles, five design elements, key design points, design indices, and etc. Finally, the paper summarizes the lessons learned from the manual for Chinese cities in street space design and street life formation during its transitional period.
