Causes Analysis and Solutions for Watering in Vehicle Bogie Axle Box in Guangzhou Metro

The bogie axle box bearing is an important part of train transmission system,its running state directly affects the safety of train operation.In this paper,the bearing failures of a vehicle bogie in Guangzhou metro are introduced,which are caused by frequent watering in the axle box bearing and the grounding device,two major reasons for the watering in axle box:the abnormal chamfering size of the axle box end cover components,and the size difference between imported and domestic axle boxes and between grounding devices are deeply analyzed.On this basis,solutions such as general survey implement,replacement and unifying the axle box end cover are put forward.
