Abstract: | By the end of 2006, 23 urban railway lines in 10 cities in China have been put into operation, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Dalian, Changchun, Chongqing, Wuhan, Shenzhen and Nanjing, with total length of 581 km. In 2006, the annual delivery amount is of 1.8 billion passengers. At present, 16 cities in China have urban railway lines being operated and constructed, in addition, 23 cities are doing the plan of urban railway lines. According to China's recent urban railway construction plan, there will be 61 lines in 15 cities, with total length of 1700 km, and total investment of over 600 billion yuan, now, 1000 km above lines have been started construction. In 2050, China's light rail and metro lines (total length) will reach 2,000 km. |
