中国铁路建设事业的拓荒者——唐廷枢

唐延枢（1832年-1892年），号景星、镜心．广东香山人，10岁入香港的英国教会学校学习六年，“受过彻底的英化教育”，“说起话来就像一个英国人”。唐廷枢16岁投身商界，又在香港政府任翻译，1861年受雇于英商怡和洋行．两年后升为买办，一做十年，深受怡和洋行老板的器重。1873年6月，唐廷枢脱下买办的“洋皮鞋”，穿上李鸿章递过来的“土布鞋”，加入了李鸿章的幕府，出任轮船招商局的总办，

First Factory and First Locomotive of China Railway

Mr. Tang Tingshu （1832-1892）, was called Jing Xing and Jing Xin, and born in Xiangshan, Guangdong. At his 10-year-old, he started studying in England Church School in Hong Kong. During six years, he was educated thoroughly by British culture, and can speak like a British. At his 16-year-old, Mr. Tang Tingshu got into the business, be the translator in Hong Kong Government, and employed by the British Yihe Bank in 1861.
