Research and Practice of Integrated Development of Superstructures atop Rail Transit Depots

Research and analysis of the types and design determinants of the integrated development of superstructures on rail transit depots shows that integrated development means the development of business premises, such as residential districts, synthesis of residential and public buildings, and integrated transport hubs, and that of public facilities like parks or green space and urban infrastructures. The factors influencing the integrated development mainly include location selection, regional influence, forward planning, and coordinated design. All these factors should be taken into consideration during the design and integrated development of depot superstructures. As an example, the Gaoqi Depot of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 1 was built as a bus stop building, which is the first case of integrated development of superstructures on rail transit depots.
