Implementation Discussion of the Bicycle Traffic Policies and Planning in Odense,Denmark

The development of bicycle traffic is the important content in sustainable municipal transportation. The Odense＇s bicycle policy and the planning consist of：（ 1） increase the bicycle trips proportion;（ 2） improve safety level and quality of riding;（ 3） draft the bicycle network planning;（ 4）draw up the environment zones,the bicycle facility and the technical measure plans. It is a live effort and integral to carry on the policies and the plans. The bicycle policies and the planning adopt EC recommendation＇s Bicycle Policy Audit,which is a dynamic loop procedure of total quality management used in the Action Planning. It puts forward implementation plans,and evaluates the implementation effects and results. The paper proposes that,the Odense model will be of some use to Chinese cities in promoting bicycle travel.
