Abstract: | The paper reviews the recent research and development trends of hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle engines, including the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack and its key components, the key spare parts and the water and heat management technologies. In order to increase the power density and reduce the cost, the research on the PEMFC stack may focus on the development of ordered membrane electrodes, the low-platinum catalyst, metal bipolar plates and their coatings. The study on the key spare parts was undertaken for the high-air flows and miniaturization of air compressors and hydrogen circulation pumps. The research on fuel cell water and heat management includes optimizing the flow field of the bipolar plates, improving the microporous structure of the gas diffusion layer, and adopting the composite control strategies. |
