Studying and Manufacturing of a Measuring Device for Cmpression Set of Car Door Sealing Strip

The automotive door sealing strip shall affect directly the closing force, operating comfort and etc. of the doors. The paper introduces a measuring device for compression set of car door sealing strip, it uses a stepping motor for driving, uses a grating scale for accuracy measuring, uses a force sensor for measuring the force, uses the stereoscopic vision principle for measuring the deformation. By using the measuring device for sealing strip compression set, the complex response measuring of force - displacement - deformation of sponge rubber sealing strip compression set can be realized, not only beneficial to estimate correctly the effect of different sealing strip structures on door closing force, but also provide a foun- dation for sealing strip structure design and optimization by using the advanced CAE softwares.
