The paper mainly analyzes the factor for influencing traffic volume, approaches to the method of statistics, observation and analysis so as to establish the index system of statistics and forecast. At the same time, combining the road construction state in Xi'an City, it puts forward the method of forecasting traffic volume so as to provide the basis of policy-making for solving urban road traffic problem.
