Abstract:The 105-m span steel and concrete composite box girders,weighing 2 300 t each piece,for the Shanghai Changjiang River Tunnel and Bridge Project were transported by sea by Tianyi Lifting Vessel at a long distance of 85 nautical miles to the Bridge site where the girders were then erected by the Vessel.The risk of transportation of the girders in such a condition was great,the precision requirements for erection of the girders were high and the erection was difficult.In this paper,the techniques for the trans...
